Marketing Transitions

Over the last 15 or so years we have seen many offline marketing models transition into the Internet marketing arena. It’s almost a case of keep up or lose out on business. In this modern era of Internet marketing there are some new additions which I think are noteworthy. In my opinion, the following areas have experienced the strongest demand and thus the highest level of competition on the Internet in recent years.


1. The dental industry (especially cosmetic dentistry) has experienced an influx of online dental marketers. With the advancement in dental techniques (tooth whitening, cosmetic dentistry etc.) comes money. Its really just a matter of simple economics. There’s more money to be made and more dental professionals want a piece, thus there is an increase in competition. With increased competition comes the drive to develop creative for marketing products and services. This new found need to find creative dental marketing techniques has taken shape on the Internet.

2. Lawyers have been battling for online ad space for some time now. This is one industry where there is no shortage of Internet marketing taking place. Attorney marketing proves to be one of the hottest areas of Internet marketing to date. Here are some of major ad players in Internet Law marketing:

  • Mesothelioma Attorney
  • Accident and Casualty Law
  • Tax attorneys
  • Bankruptcy
  • DUI litigation
  • Criminal Law

3. Skin care products: From acne cures to scar removal there are a plethora of new products being marketing on a daily basis. This marketing industry shows no sign of slowing anytime soon

4. Diet and weight loss marketing: Americans in general are always looking for new diet and weight loss ideas, supplements, books and plans. Competition in this marketing industry might be one of the fiercest around.

5. Vacation and travel marketing: Travel and marketing, even with the down turn in the economy, is still going strong. Online advertising for flights, cruises, vacation rentals and the like are extremely competitive areas.

These are all extremely competitive marketing areas. If you are trying to compete in one of these areas be sure to do your research. Jumping into one of the advertising arenas could cost you severely if you don’t have a marketing plan laid out in advance.
