10 Ways to Boost your Internet Marketing System

1. Effective Site Design:

Your site should make sense to users. All to often I come across a website that is not user friendly. The link schemes don’t make sense and the website itself is not appealing. These are the things you need to make sure you focus on when creating a website design. Ask yourself the following questions? Is my site visually appealing? Does my site design fit with my content? Is my site easily navigated? Or, better yet ask someone else to review your site. After all, you know how your site works and may think its great, but getting an outside opinion could provide valuable new consumer insight.

2. SEO, SEO, SEO – major search engine rankings:

High page ranks don’t come overnight (unless of course your purchase a pre-existing site). When establishing your online identity be sure to think about the future. What do search engines like? How do they rank pages? Once you have a clear idea of what it takes to rank well, apply your knowledge. Here are a few SEO tips:

  • Make sure your domain name matches the content of your site. For example, this site focuses on Internet Marketing, so I purchased the domain name y-internetmarketing.com. Using keywords in your URL can give you a leg up over the competition.
  • Make sure your website pages and/or blog article titles contain pertinent keywords. If you are creating an article on Developing Internet Marketing Strategies, title you article using those keywords. Third, many people, like myself love to use WordPress for their blogging needs. The first thing I do when I start a new blog is to edit my permalink structure. The default permalink structure looks like this http://yourdomain.com/?p=123. Each blog post you create will be assigned a page number. Why not tell search engines a little more about your site by adding some pertinent article information. You can either create your own structure, or you can choose another option. Personally, I like to use the following: http://yourdomain.com/2009/10/sample-post/. This provides a clearer picture of what your page/post is about.Wordpress and other blogging software will automatically replace the sample-post, from this example, and replace it with your post title.
  • Avoid tactics which could get your site black-listed. Example, don’t create invisible content (white lettering on a white background), and hide it out of site from visitors.
  • Don’t overuse your keywords. Keyword stuffing, as it’s called, can be detriminal to your sites integrity (especially when viewe by search engine spiders). Use your keywords in areas where it makes the most sense.
  • Step up your title tags and meta information. You should always use your keywords in meta descriptions and title tags.

3. Email Marketing – Learn it and use it:

E-mail marketing is one of the most effective ways of creating product buza and gaining return visitors and/or repeat customers. If you aren’t e-mail marketing, you are missing out on sales, it’s that simple.

4. Set up your own affiliate system – the power of having other people promote your products is huge:

If you want to truly boost your online sales, have people promote your products for you. This is essentially free advertising for your site and your products. By developing your own affiliate program, you are inviting willing affiliates in, who are eager to promote products for commission. Setting up your own affiliate program free up time, which can be used for other marketing ventures.

5. Hit the major article directories:

Writing articles, as I have mentioned so many times, can greatly improve you site visibility. But, let me add one little thought here. Don’t get tied up writing for small directories, write for the best directories. If you had to pick one, choose ezinearticles.com. They hand approve every article submitted and the major search engines love this. Your articles, if written well, will surely get some attention.

6. Add Interactive Content – Web polls, giveaways and voting

Invite you customers and visitors to become active in your site development. Creating polls is a simple way to gain valuable customer information.

7. Hire an Internet Marketing coach:

Marketing coaches can be extremely valuable assets. While this is a great idea it has its downfalls. Finding a legitimate coach can be difficult, especially one with a proven track record. It also costs money to hire a marketing coach. So, make sure you do your research and get information in writing from your potential coach.

8. Blog, Blog, Blog + Social Media

Blogging and social media combined are two hot marketing trends and for good reason. Utilizing social media (Facebook, Twitter etc.) allows you to personally connect with potential customers and aids in the development of positive business relations. Personal marketing (face to face) is a major marketing component which was not easily accomplished until the advent of Social Media and Blogging.

9. Free eBooks

Develop free eBooks or eProducts. There are so many ways to generate earnings from ‘free products,’ I can’t list them all here. However, I can tell you this, many marekters run extremely successful businesses through free product promotions alone. More to come on this topic at a later date….

10. Keyword Research Advertising

Take google for example. Advertising your products or services through AdWords can be extremely benneficial. But, if you aren’t choosing the right keywords, your advertising costs could outway the potential benefits. Make sure you are actively looking for ways to increase your revenue by decreasing your advertising expenses.
